Play Station 3

Buddy of mine bought a Play Station 3 80gb, 2 controllers, 2 games and HDMI high definition cable. He made an impulse purschase and spent a good amount of money at GameCrazy. He played it for two weeks just to realize that he has rent to pay......dumb. I bought it out from him for $475. Personally I have no interest and I outgrew video games years ago so its just laying around the house. The only reason why I bought it is to help him out at the moment. I have a receipt from Game Crazy but they dont do refunds after a 7 day period. Purschase date is less then a month ago and the system is in Perfect condition. The only thing that will separate this from the new system is the seal on the outside of the box, thats it!!! I thought about putting it up on Ebay but should I do it now or 2 weeks prior to Christmas. In another words is there going to be a craze for these this time a year or do retail stores have plenty to supply.I remember Xbox 360 went for 5 times its value around Christmas a year or 2 back ago. Thanks

The price goes down significally when you drive it off the lot. $20 if he throws in the games.

wow... his pay must suck if he cant spring for $750. btw, an hdmi cable is $8 on the intarweb (includes shipping). i dont think there is going to be a craze for them as they are not in short supply. in fact, none of the consoles are in short supply, regardless of what the companies that make it, say. it's just hype so that more people will get one before they are "gone" when in fact there is no issue. im quite sure you can get more than what you paid if you are willing to go through the hassle of ebay. just look at the cost of what they are now. btw, your friend is an idiot and clearly has a crap job.

Put it on ebay around xmas. You're sure to get more money than if you list it on ebay now.

I would do it now. There will be no crazy demand for PS3. I have both the PS3 and the Wii. The PS3 kinda sucks, especially when compared to Xbox 360. In other words, people realize PS3 is a dog and there is still high demand for the Wii, so the longer it is out there on eBay, the more likely you will actually sell it.

Also, I think $475 is too much for a used counsel, especially since new PS3s are selling for only $20 more than that.

P.S. It kinda sounds like your friend screwed you by getting you to pay for his mistake.

to his defence, he is one of the hardest working people I have ever meet. Someone who is 19 and holds two jobs. Some people have to bust their ass and
work day around to make ends meet. Paying your own rent, car, food, gas, insurance is not an easy thing to do at low pay.Not mention some never get a chance for higher education because of that exact reason. I am honestly happy for kids whose parents take care of them entirely and that they get a chance to live in a nice neighborehood but some have to work at early age and thats the way it is

I was one of those people who worked two (and sometimes three) jobs and busted my ass when I was 19 because I was on my own. You know what I was doing with $475? Paying for college courses, not video games.
