Herndon/Reston noise

anybody notice an increase in airport noise around Herndon/ Reston lately? its a sustained deep rumbling...seems to be the same no matter the direction of wind or type of weather.

I notice it most often when the weather is bad, and Dulles ends up using an alternate runway and take-off/approach pattern.

You ever notice the prop planes that keep going on forever, and they sound like they're never going to leave, then suddenly they die off? It takes them forever to get out of range sometimes, depending upon the pattern.

Sometimes a heavy will be taking off when I'm trying to put G&S Jr. to sleep and he'll wake up and say "*gasp* Daddy, airplane!" then he's wide awake again.
