Litter Laws and Smoking

Smoking is legal but is throwing your cigarette butt on the ground legal? I can say I do not see a more profuse source of littering by individuals on a daily basis.

Nope. You can be ticketed for it.

Edit: In fact, I've heard it's a favorite reason for cops to pull over people they suspect of drunk driving.

Cop pulls over my bosses friend for speeding. Nothing serious. Cop decides
to give him a warning. While cops writing ticket driver tosses cigarette butt
out the window and cops writes him a ticket for littering. Dumb move on
drivers part.
