On a woman, it used to allegedly mean (about 10 years ago) the right thumb meant you played with girls at least some of the time.

A thumb ring on any man means he's a flamboyant burglar of turd, it says so right here in the Bible.

Thumb Rings and Sexual Orientation
Recently there is widespread hearsay about thumb rings and its relevance with the wearer's sexual orientation. It is rumored that thumb rings are worn only by homosexual individuals. A person who wears a thumb ring in his right thumb is said to be into a same sex relationship. On the contrary in some parts if the world, it is considered that wearing a ring in right thumb signifies that the person is single. Thumb ring in the left thumb means that a person is into a serious relationship.

One is sure to get baffled with the contradictory symbolism associated with the thumb ring. These days thumb ring's importance has increased as it is also associated with fashion jewelry. With the myriad options in styles, sizes and the material used, thumb ring for guys and girls are a popular trend these days. You can either go for a studded one or a carved or an engraved one. Each one finds something that suits his budget.

Men should wear only three types of rings. A wedding ring, a college class ring or a professional sports championship ring. Anything else is stupid.

We're talking about thumb rings on guys - not beads and all that crap that girls wear to pronounce their sexuality. Do you have ADD or something that keeps you from staying on topic?

No. I don't have piercings, tattoos and I don't wear rings. I also don't have ADD, but can keep a thread on topic.

So, let's get back to faggots wearing thumb rings.

I only wear rings on my ring finger, that's it.

When I tell someone to "Suck on it", they do it without hesitation:

To your knowledge, the guy isn't gay. How do you know that he isn't just good at hiding being gay? Not all gay people want to be "outed" and flamboyant like Richard Simmons or Liberace.

Thumb rings on chicks are kinda hot; on guys, not so. Anthony Bourdain wears one, and though I like his show, the thumb ring bugs the crap out of me.

Pinky rings work if you are a mobster or Brits of a certain class.

To be honest, I'm disappointed in the sheer homophobic stupidity being bred in this thread.
I'm a straight male, I wear a thumb ring on my right hand, if somebody is stupid enough to think I'm gay, frankly, they're not intelligent enough to merit any sort of worries on my end for their opinion.

A ring is a ****ing ring. Woopdy doo?
At a time, Pinky rings and thumb rings were used to show who was and was not gay,
So was sagging pants. So was right piercings.

So that must mean every person who's sagged their pants wants something stuck up their butt, and every person with a right piercing obviously wants to be 'pierced' elsewhere. What kind of idiotic logic is this?
While I'll admit there are probably more gay wearers of thumb rings, generalizations are used by the less intelligent to comprehend things more easily.

I sincerely hope that all of you are younger than 20, else I have lost all respect in my older generation.

Also, the last 3 people I heard use the term faggot:
1) A closet homosexual, regardless of what he claims.
2) an idiotic 13 year old playing Crossfire typing it to the other team when he died.
3) The local redneck who can't even spell redneck.

That being said. It's the interwebz. Half of you are probably trolling.

How about you do this: "Live and let live". I know it's difficult to do. Hate and is much easier than love.

Why do you all think judging others is a good thing? Look into the mirror before judging.

You all must be ignorant and uneducated, open your horizon and realize that the world exists outside of your little pitty life.

Following in the footsteps of the rest of this sad society, now we have fag's calling straight people out for something that is in every moral and physical way WRONG. If you're distrubed by seeing threads about homosexuals, stop coming to the forum. You people are now and will always be a minority. Thanks for spreading HIV, thanks for raping little boys, and most of all- thanks for slowly destroying the morals of an entire country. Now being gay is "cool", wow.

Whats up. Threads like this are kind of cool. I know a lot of the comments are made in anonymous jest but seeing both sides of the spectrum on a hot issue like homosexuality is interesting. I still don't know if people have more of a problem with blatant, flamboyant displays of "homosexual" behavior or the actual act of putting a dick in the butt? Either way, there are plenty of flamboyant, "homosexual" acting men who only put dick in the vag and there's plenty of non-flamboyant men who only put dick in man-butt. Either way, I'm not sure if thumb rings have much to do with that or would even have a high correlation with one or the other to even be considered for lazy generalizations.

Staggering to think the adolescent gits in this blog generate such anger and abuse. Blogs have become shyte as no one knows how to discuss; topics are fuelled by incompetance and incoherence from illiterate loners. Saw a guy fall from a oil rig and his wedding ring got snagged going down.
Wasn't pretty what was left. His wife was pissed because we couldn't find the ring. One of the roughnecks had a couple of cases of Pearl beer next day. We all were wearing a Texas grin.

Just a few cans that missed the slop pit.
Oh you mean where the finger once was. Lets just say he won't be playing the piano Texas style.
Ain't the first time I've seen missing digits or limbs.
Once saw a guy lose his head over a gal. That was funny.
And seen some boys lose their heads over a war. That wasn't funny.
But back to rings. Some men wear rings in their noses. Those are the ones that don't need thumb rings.

I wear a thumb ring. Have for over 25 years and I am far from being a homosexual. To me it's a sign that I have enough balls to go against what society considers "normal."

I guess it's safe for us to assume that 'steve' is yet another offended thumb ring-wearing fag.

Looks great with that Ed Hardy shirt.

Wingnut, you sir must be going to hell because I honestly doubt that is NOT in the King James Version of The Holy Bible.

Here is something for those who think that thumb rings and those who wear them are gay.

[-Protection in Archery Thumb rings were used by men in archery to protect the skin against injury. Composed of wood, ivory, metal, plastic, glass or stone, thumb rings for archery were often massive in size and shape.-] Robin Hood was an archer, call him gay and you people will catch an arrow with your face.

I have seen many guys who wear thumb rings on both thumbs and are married to women, since they do wear a wedding band on the ring finger of the left hand. That is not gay. I have seen many guys who wear hooped earrings in both ears and are married to women as well. That is not gay. It is the year 2013, folks - so try to be a little mature and stop trying to symbolize every little thing possible as gay. Some people like metal and like wearing more than their fair share. If I wore a thumb ring, I would hope like hell someone calls me gay ... just so I have a valid to demolish their face. Archers used to wear thumb rings, so with that said - to all of you who think thumb rings and those who wear them are gay ... consider your argument and assumptions IRRELEVANT and INVALID. When the end of times approaches us, all of you dumbasses are going first. Imagine calling a Christian wearing a thumb ring with a cross on it gay, go for it. Yeah, the dumbasses will plummet to hell first .. and faster than the rest of us.

Furthermore, I have had a lot of gay customers come into my store ... and NONE of them were spotted wearing a thumb ring on either hand. Here a few ways to identify gay men: they have a fascination with rainbows, are known to attend gay bars and always attend gay bars by preference. There are even some guitarists who wear a especially designed thumb ring in which the edge is triangular ... it is used like a guitar pick when it comes to strumming the chords because guitar picks are easy to drop and easier to lose as to where a specially designed thumb ring is not. I rest my case. Any who try to argue with the actual facts I have shared as well as the points I have made should have been swallowed at birth. Seriously, there are even black people who sport so much 'bling bling' and will actually wear a ring on all eight fingers and both thumbs ... call them gay and I will lay money down that you will no walk away in one piece. For all of you who spend so much time out of your day to label this to be gay and that to be gay ... WHO GIVES A SHIT!? Seriously, get a life you trifling jackoffs.

To BEH ...

The only thing I did was show people that thumb rings were worn before homosexuality was discovered and that some folks are mindless mishaps. I also shown that thumb rings are labeled as gay to this age. There may have been a point in time of the distant past that they may have been a sign of homosexuality, but that is no different than the concept of how gay people used to sag their pants to flag themselves to other gays back in the day. Nowadays, it is considered hip and stylish by those who choose to dress rather trashy. They have one meaning at one point in time, and with time ... they lose their former meaning and uphold an entirely different meaning. Things change, that is life. Nothing ever stays the same. If any of you folks have even the slightest bit of intelligence, you would know that ... but the chances of that are like a snowball in Hell. In the history of Green Lantern, GL Hal Jordan had temporarily became an OL (Orange Lantern, for the dumbasses) ... he was consumed with greed to the point he put an OL Power Ring on all 8 fingers and BOTH his thumbs. Was he gay? Of course not. The woman he loved, Carol ... became a Star Sapphire. For those who are smart, the Star Sapphires were powered by the emotion of love. Though it is fiction, there you have it. What may have been a sign of homosexuality in the past is now nothing more than a simple fashion statement.

I swear, proving a point to the small-minded dipshits is rather boring. Hell, BEH obviously read nothing I had already posted. I am sure that person loves selling cockleberry souffles, peckerdoodle cookies and cockmeat hoagies at the beach strips every Memorial Day ... rain, hail, sleet or snow. Poor little bastard, bless that little heart.

To Henro. As for the when and whom homosexuality was discovered is none of my.business. If you want to know, well ... there is Google for that. As for the forefathers insult, talking that shit around here will definitely get your teeth kicked in.

To BEH. The Willy Wonka picture just proves to me that you lack any real form of intelligence. I happen to be a dude who has a better vocabulary when it comes to Archaic speech. Talking in Archaic does not make you smart, and since this is much shorter than my previous posts on this thread ... I am sure your dumb ass can read.

Because all of the fags wondering whether their thumb rings are gay find it on the Google.

Here, I can save you losers some trouble...

If you're wondering if a thumb ring is ghey, as distinguished from gay and having little to nothing to do with homosexuality, then the answer is yes.

If you're wondering whether YOU are gay and out searching the Interwebs for the answer, then the answer also is yes.

You're welcome.

Gaydar. Ironic coming from someone who uses a name associated with a device inherent by gays to detect other gays and distinguishing gays from the straight. Good job, fag.

Yes. And it was a thumb ring that did it.

I was a normal straight guy until one day at the mall with my girlfriend I innocently slipped on a thumb ring.

BAM!

Next thing I knew I was in the men's room sucking off a stranger.

Don't let it happen to you!

Thumb rings on men are very hip and is a serious fashion statement for modern men gay or straight. No big deal. Are those guys gay who wear tight straight leg pants and jeans and form fitting tight shirts and tee shirts. Thwt is more gay than anything or guys pants falling to show dirty underwear and stinky ass.

Incredible how so many homophobic men who think they’re right wing hetro are such experts on gay-ness. I was given a TR by a pretty 33 year old Brazilian girl who thought it was stylish. I'm 61 and fit and she and I live together. I wear a TR and have had more women than some of those phobic losers have had dinners. A thumb ring means there's a piece of metal on a thumb. It doesn't mean much beyond that. If someone is Bi- or Gay and wears a TR then it’s coincidence.

Anyone that calls a thumb ring a TR is a gay 13year old.

no no. thumb rings are in the book of secret swinger sex symbolism. that's where you learn a language of how to sex talk with other swingers without risking others who aren't knowing what your doing. it's from the 70's

the thumb ring is the secret symbol for ass licking

you missed your chance !

(but be careful, in Texas in means: i'm going to kick your ass)

Yes, it's true.

Thumb rings mean you're queer.

Right thumb = pitcher

Left thumb = catcher

Both thumbs = switch hitter
