This asshole cat

There is a cat that I see everyday in my neighborhood . It seems like it would be one of the neighbores as it is well groomed but doenst have a collar. All it does is meows non-stop, it follows me if I walk away but it will runaway if I get within few inches of it. I dont want to call the county as it might be someones cat and the county might uthelize it. What should I do?

A cat meowing and following you makes it an asshole? Just sounds like a friendly cat to me. I wouldn't worry about it. Lots of people let their cats roam around outside and they do just fine.

I've had neighborhood cats do that to me in various areas, including Florida. The cat obviously like you to some degree, so it's not an "Asshole".

I wish you could buy larger cats like you can with dogs. Why haven't people spent time domesticating large cats?

That is a Maine Coon cat. I own two of them and my male is 10 years old and around 27 or 28 lbs. depending if it before or after a meal.

Do feral cats get bigger than regular housecats? The ones in my neighborhood seem pretty big. Still "cat" sized not like crazy big but bigger.

I don't think living their life outdoors makes them grow any bigger if thats what you're asking. From what I understand, it just depends on what breed they are.

Most "domestic" cats descended from the African Wildcat.

Fuck cats. Our cat is so annoying (to me anyway). Every morning it's the same thing. He hops up on the kitchen table, starts walking in front of me while I'm trying to eat, tries to lick out some milk from my cereal, I put him down. 2 minutes later he gets back on the table and we repeat and keep repeating until I'm done eating. And don't get me started with the knocking shit off of the tables and stuff like that.

Sounds like the cat isn't disciplined enough. Try using a spray bottle (water) when it gets on the table. My cats paw at my face in the morning, trying to get me out of bed and feed them. Kind of annoying but funny too.

You could also just pick it up and throw it across the room. Should teach the thing not to do that after a couple sails. Or, at least in the winter, throw it outside for a while, particularly effective if the cat's an indoor cat.

You're letting the cat rule the house, Warhawk. You need to make it see you're the boss.

No not really, however they all seem to gain a somewhat rust color to their coat, it is a sort of dried leaf color. They are reverting back to the wild state, so they have a tendency to become more aggressive. in other words if you making a stamping bluff forward with your foot, the males will tense up and watch what your next move will be instead of fleeing.

I've done that a few times, especially when he paws at my face at 4am because he's hungry or whatever. I couldn't give two shits about it, but it's my daughter's cat. The only thing keeping me from getting rid of it is her tears. It got out once and we couldn't find it...oh, how she cried and cried. We found it 2 houses over about 15 minutes later, but if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have stepped foot outside to look for it. I'm just not a cat person.

cats and dogs have an innate instinct to distinguish a person's character. Maybe this cat can feel vibrations from you telling it what a really humane person you are and will help it in the pitiful circumstance it is in. Feed it,
