Stink Bug Traps - Does one exist?

Does anyone know if there any commercial stink bug traps? Everything I see on the web is more like a 'home remedy'.

Not yet. If you use the search feature you should see that there was an extensive thread on this some months back. Researchers have recently found something that attracts them but have yet to come out with a commercial product.

Lol!

I've caught two of the boogers in my house within the last few days, crawling across the carpet in the dim light of the morning or evening. Made me jump out of my skin (thought they were spiders/centipedes at first, then looked more closely). Caught a few more earlier on various windowsills.

That is to say, my house appears to e a pretty good trap for them!

I sure wish they would come up with something in a hurry. A friend of mine lays duct tape (sticky side up) along the edges of his basement floor. Those ugly nasty things stick to it.

I hear they don't react well to fire. Depending on how strictly you define "commercial" I may know a guy who knows a guy who could help out with that..

My wife hung an old nasty pair of her three day old granny panties from a string in the living room and the little buggers swarm around and cling to the stanky wretched underwear. They swarm to it like a Japenese beetle trap.

We only had one in our house this winter, and he was already dying from the Orkin guy having sprayed around the perimeter.

Sometimes classic and simple home remedies work the best. Even in January I noticed these critters coming into the house; I would find about one or two a day on the curtains, etc. So I turned to an old family recipie: fire. I simply burned my house down and now I don't have a problem anymore. At least not a stink bug problem.

If anyone is still interested for when they come in your house in the fall you can check out www.whenanyistoomany.com they are coming into stores in weeks. There is a form on the where to buy page to take to your local retailer if they don't carry them yet.

Saw a stink bug trap for sale at Chantilly Costco...for $45. I'd rather catch and flush that deal with that mess.

I haven't seen any for awhile. They seemed to come out of hiding after last winter. They don't make any effort to get away. You just pick em off the wall or drapery and let them out the front door.

I keep a glass jar with a screw top lid about half full of rubbing alcohol.

They're easy to catch in the jar and it doesn't stink much until you have several dozen in there.

Optionally, you can dump the contents inside the car of someone you hate, because there's no way that smell is going away any time soon.

I have an idea. My attic was loaded with them last winter.

Bug zappers are bad because they attract both beneficial and detrimental insects from all around. If I hung one up in my attic, only those that get into my attic would be affected.

I don't think the smell will be a problem because my powered attic fans diced up many and I didn't notice their stank.

I have a Latino friend and for some reason Stink Bugs avoid his house like the plague. In fact, I don't think I saw any stink bugs on his neighbor's houses either (they are also Latino). Could it be that Stink bugs don't like Spanish people?

Yes commercial and residential stink bug traps exist that work very well.. I invented them :-) We caught over 14,000 stink bugs on one AG trap in less then a week. This is 0ur second season making our indoor traps that also work great.. There is NO OTHER stink bug traps available that work as well as ours.. All the rest are just designed to catch your money not your stink bugs..we are trying to get word out to people in Pa where I am from but we have been out done by big companies with millions of dollars to dump on media and advertising so, please take a moment to view our company web site and help by spreading the word about us..
