She is correct about the founding fathers they did try to eliminate slavery before the revolutionary war. England wanted slavery to stay.

What was the point of this Tea Party response anyway? If the Republicans wants to take the office from Obama next election, they don't need competing speeches and voices from their officials. Hopefully this Tea Party bullshit is just a short lived fad.

It's really a shame. The amount of anger and frustration with the status quo made the timing as good as it's ever been to establish a real third party option that could be more moderate and maybe could have made some real changes in the future. Or at least forced Washington to stop with the partisan bullshit, act in the interest of the country, and fucking govern. But instead the Tea Party latched on to a bunch of kooks and/or idiots that make them a laughing stock for the most part. Sometimes you have to look long term and not in the "durka durr" short term.

Regarding the TelePrompter, Reagan didn't use it at his most famous speech. But he basically read the whole fucking thing off the piece of paper in front of him...
...I really don't get the whole TelePrompter outrage thing. Presidents have read their fucking speeches from Day One. Why is a TelePrompter supposedly more offensive than a piece of paper?

This is why these rebuttal SOTU responses aren't the greatest idea. She had to have known the pool camera would be the shot used by the mainstream media. Why couldn't the Tea Party have used the pool feed? It looked creepy.How about a little rehearsal beforehand to make sure you don't have people like most of the freeking media making fun of you the next day?

She seems to have completely overlooked that fact that the southern States would have never ratified the Constitution if protections for slavery were not provided. Jefferson wouldn't have even been elected to office if it had not been for the 3/5ths provision. They knew it was wrong and did nothing about it, and instead profited from it.

The only thing I ask is if you use a teleprompter have the damn thing set back far enough as to not let viewers see your eyes tracking from their right to left on the TV screen. That is as bad as Bachman's appearance. The readers eyes are tracking back and forth reading text all the while trying to trick the viewer making them think you are just talking straight to them.Having shifty eyes while trying to gain the trust of the viewer is stupid. Obama does pretty good in a speech to a roomful of people but his PSA's and oval office vids suck.They have the teleprompter too close. Michelle's the worst and they must know this because she does very few PSA's considering all her fat kid work.I think if she was coached on camera presence she would be better. It always looks like she's scowling.

At what point did I ever defend Obama? I specifically pointed out that BOTH party's representatives use the device AND MANY others not affiliated with politics at all do as well.
EVERY politician sounds like a dumb-ass as some point or other...there are even websites out there with the top dumbest statements made by any number of people, including Obama, George W Bush, and Clinton.
Does everything have to be partisan? I still think Palin is an idiot though. I think Dan Quale and Al Gore are pretty stupid as well.

Maybe you should cut back on the math courses and enroll in reading comprehension. I posted in response to a comment about Glenn Beck and specifically referenced the previous poster's comments about him. In case you still aren't following, my point in posting the chart was to demonstrate that Glenn Beck's ratings have dropped considerably over the last year. The fact that Olbermann and Maddow were on the same chart doesn't mean I was promoting them. Try to follow along.
