So for about 6 months now I walk past this toyota car in the mornings and evenings and man does it have an odd smell. Like i said a cross between shit and burning metal. I'd think at the 6 month mark if this was a lack of oil the car would have seized up but seems to still be going. I don't believe the toyota is a hybrid. why the smell, never smelt no car like this

It probably doesn't like you, so it's puffing gas in your direction as you walk by.

Sounds like it has a leak somewhere. Maybe a bad gasket or hose. You could be smelling oil or antifreeze that's become heated.

I don't think it's antifreeze, it usually has a sweet syrupy smell.

MAYBE THEIR MECHANIC TOOK A SHIT ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AS A JOKE.

Actually, the smell could be antifreeze, maybe from the heater core. Had one go bad and it smelled like rotten fish. Mechanic said the odors are numerous and all pretty repugnant. Not always a sicky sweet smell, in other words.

Antifreeze almost always smells like syrup.

Catalytic converter or the body in the trunk.

Perhaps the previous owner had a skanky gash/ass?

Toyotas are notorious for a rotten egg sulfur smell if you accelerate too quickly. Usually the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. Maybe someone stole the one off of this car. There are all kinds of Technical service bulletins for it.

But a body in the trunk is also likely. Best to report it to the police.

Same here. My car started smoking up years ago and I thought it was going to flame up, but it ended up being the heating coil. It had that damn rotten fish smell as well.
