Actually, he hasn't shown the original birth certificate. What they've put out is a computer generated certificate of live birth. It's not the same thing at all. Now, I don't really care about this issue, and am not among those who are clamoring for Obama to release a copy of the original birth certificate, but let's at least be clear about what has been made public. I'd be more interested in seeing his college and law school records. Something tells me that he's not the brilliant guy that everyone keeps gushing that he is.

the lies are intended to be propagated so dumb people just repeat them as if they're true and stir up more discontent. reagan's advisor pretty much summed it up. if you keep repeating them, they'll be be treated as true or preoccupy the the target of the smear campaign. the best thing is to just move on. if you're too lazy or stupid to analyze the real policies of the two parties in detail and can't see the many similarities in their positions, you shouldn't be voting anyways.

All I can say is I can't find my original birth certificate. Don't know if it even exists anymore. Got something from the state to get my license and passport though. Looks a lot like what was released. It's good enough for me.

As far as the law goes, Obama satisfied his obligation by producing his certificate of live birth. Period. So whatever your speculation on his birth certificate, who really gives a fuck? He is the President now, and has less than 2 years to go in the current term. Maybe you should focus more on the future and less on the past.

Few states issue certified copies of birth records anymore. Current "birth abstracts" usually list only names of parents, places of birth, times/dates, and that's about it. Gone is the delivering doctor info, etc. Probably had to do with privacy concerns, status (legitimate/illigitimate) etc. Beleive this is really nationwide these days. However, since Obama's in his late 40's, he should somewhere have a version of the old-style birth certificate with all that juicy info.

Obama's hiding something on the certificate, and who knows what the hell it is. I'm not saying he wasn't born here, but he has gone to more trouble than anyone I know in order to prevent the release of the actual document. He wouldn't even produce it in court hearings, and instead his lawyers motioned for delays and dismissals. It simply doesn't make sense to withhold exonerating evidence.

The Braindead continue to harp on this nonissue because there aren't any real issues otherwise to harp on - Obama's campaign policies are working right on schedule. Good job, Mr. President!
W.r.t. not releasing a particular document - he doesn't have to; as another poster already noted, he has proven his citizenship. How some other document is worded literally is irrelevant to that (nonissue) question. I already noted I think there are errors on the original certificate that wouldn't help stop this crap, so better to just leave it private and rely on the OTHER legal document that is sufficient.

Yeah, this is where the far left folks far short. They don't get the fact that the 'middle of the road' voters went for him because of his "hope and Change" mantra. All his talk about being the most open, closing Gitmo, no Rendition, blah blah blah, blah blah. Then he gets into office and look - his best accomplishment so far? Repealing DADT - sort of. A non-issue for most folks that don't live in the big city areas. Even the tax cut/tax policy issue was a loss for him - as he had railed against the Bush tax cuts for years, but again, reality caused him to follow in his predecessor's footsteps.
He would have really gotten everyone's attention if he had truly just walked out of Iraq and left token security forces, and told Afghanistan to just fuck off. Instead he wallowed about for months waffling on that decision. Really made him look like he 'had a plan' huh? So what was it, suddenly he found out about the mineral rights in Afghanistan so that changed his worldview?

Yeah, this is where the far left folks far short. They don't get the fact that the 'middle of the road' voters went for him because of his "hope and Change" mantra. All his talk about being the most open, closing Gitmo, no Rendition, blah blah blah, blah blah. Then he gets into office and look - his best accomplishment so far? Repealing DADT - sort of. A non-issue for most folks that don't live in the big city areas. Even the tax cut/tax policy issue was a loss for him - as he had railed against the Bush tax cuts for years, but again, reality caused him to follow in his predecessor's footsteps.
He would have really gotten everyone's attention if he had truly just walked out of Iraq and left token security forces, and told Afghanistan to just fuck off. Instead he wallowed about for months waffling on that decision. Really made him look like he 'had a plan' huh? So what was it, suddenly he found out about the mineral rights in Afghanistan so that changed his worldview?

i think the gop ticket will be pawlenty-huckabee, which sounds like the name of a backwoods country singing duo or even a filthy south carolina bbq joint with paper plates and dirt floors.
