Local law enforcement were aware of Loughner and been called to the community college where he attended to make their presence known after he caused problems in his classes. That sheriff is trying to deflect his malfeasance by ranting about the hate from the right.

I guess the wacko is getting what he wanted, bring down the government by turning The People on themselves, using their blind hate and knee-jerk finger-pointing of all blame away from them to do the deed his 30 bullets could not.

In order to be influenced by politics one has to read newspapers or take time listening to a position. Seeker is right, the motivation is not partisan, it is mental illness and crazy. He had a shrine with a skull and candles, what does that have at all to do with politics?

You know, only SOME people on the right think Sarah Palin has any chance to be anything other than a fund raiser. But folks on the left salivate about her every action as if she is some kind of hero. Like you for instance Voter - and many of your compatriots here. You all seem to follow the same sources for material.

Most conservatives/Republicans are pretty much aware that she is an idiot. The ONLY thing that would get her nominated is if she somehow came out, and was able to out debate, and somehow show that she had sprouted a brain since she was nominated for VP. I don't think there is much evidence of that out there. I certainly wouldn't hold her in any way shape or form the equivalent of Hillary Clinton in intelligence. Not even close.

But there is an obsession with MSM and left pundits to target her - maybe as some kind of response to all the attention Hillary got for the 4 years before the last election. The problem is, with Hillary, the attention was meant to get everyone bored with her - to sort of dislike her after 4 years to lower her chances of being elected (seems to have worked). With Palin, all the negative attention does is make her look better for all the other things she works on - she becomes like a folk hero to these folks. Doesn't mean she has a chance in hell of getting elected, but her influence behind the scenes grows every time the left comes out and shows what a bunch of dumbass idiots they are in taking her on.

The fact that she's a blue-collar (what the left calls white trash), pro-life woman who happens to have a great set of legs and a fine rack has the libs apoplectic.

The left hates her. The moderates get most of their news from Brian Williams, who belongs to the part of the MSM that demonizes her. And conservatives agree with her and like her.

Were she smart, she would do what Hillary Clinton did and find a state where she can get elected to the Senate, establish residency, and run against a weak candidate. The Senate is a popular track for former governors to take. She could express her views, keep the teabaggers happy, and avoid suffering a shameful loss for the presidency. It would also limit the damage she can cause, if she's a senator she'll likely fall into that role and we'll actually see and hear less of her.

I didn't say they all supporter her for president. I agree with her on almost everything but won't support her for president. But I'm not going to throw her under the bus like RV did. I said 40% of the electorate agree with her (politically).

She won't be nominated because she won't run. She will be a fund raiser and perhaps a king maker.

BTW, ccn has little credibility with polls. Until 2 weeks before the election, they always provide pro-democrat trending. Then they start showing the true numbers because they know that is what will be remembered. But, in general I agree, Palin is pretty toxic due to the constant hammering from the left-wing media. There are better candidates out there for the GOP anyway. I really find her attractive however and would love to stare at those boobs every night on the news.

If anyone has a share of the blame, it would be Pima Community College for not requesting a psych eval when he was a student. AZ law allows anyone to petition for psych eval, unlike most states who require a threat of harm to oneself or others. if anything, this should be a wakeup call for awareness and better care for the mentally ill. a third of the long term homeless people have a mental illness.

unfortunately, society has little care for helping people before something disastrous happens. jailing the mentally ill will not help them because no amount of incarceration can health a physical impairment.

as hard as it is to swallow, this is an instance of society reaping what it sows.
