1. Ken Burns' series on Jazz and Baseball are also great.

2. WTF does any of this have to do with Fairfax County?

WashingToneLocian~

Most germane to Fairfax County in a number of ways.

Fairfax County lost, at least, 277 listed residents in World War II

George Santanya taught: “Those who forget the lessons of history are
condemned to repeat them.”

Shakespeare was more succinct: ”What’s past is prologue.”

WTF, you probably can’t even find the United States on the map!

First episode was good. I doubt many Bush supporters would like to see the show on the air, not with some of the comments WW II veterans are making about the war.

Last night they interviewed this veteran who said there was this dieing guy in the bush moaning all night long and he wanted to get some sleep so he just kept thinking "would you shut up and die." The next morning he found out the guy was his best friend and had been killed by friendly fire.

Tonights Episode:
The War: When Things Get Tough (January 1943-December 1943)
Monday, September 24, 8:00pm, Repeat - 10pm & 2am
The events of 1943 are chronicled.
