Combining multiple Metro fare cards

I recently found several of those old DC Metrorail paper fare cards for like $1.50-3 and was wondering if I can combine them into one card? I've never tried this and was wondering if anybody ever had success at this.

You can add them all to a SmartCard if you have one. You can't combine them onto a single paper card though.

you can combine them, but you have to mail them to WMATA and they will mail one card back to you. I did this twice and it worked once.

I thought you could trade them in/do an "Add Fare" operation on them. In fact, can't you do that at ANY of the Fare Card machines - they all have a slot for old cards? I've never tried more than one card as a Trade-in.

Interesting. I'd be more inclined to just use the cards individually until they were depleted, because I wouldn't trust mailing anything to WMATA.

You took a picture of a piece of equipment at a government-funded facility, they should have bagged your ass and thrown you in jail.
