Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11-year-old Patricia Harrington after her
father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay-shooting champion since she was nine.


Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house.
She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.
When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.
It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0'Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest. Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........? An 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself..... against two murderous, illegal immigrants...... and she wins. She is still alive.

There are probably HUNDREDS of real stories about self-protection that could be told - no need to make them up.

I'm actually kind of surprised more real stories don't make the rounds - the concealed carry laws, for example, probably have generated tons of real incidents that don't result in gunfire but DO result in "end of incident" - rarely hear about them, rarely see them included in the "statistics" supporting the laws.

These kind of stories (when they happen for real) get suppressed because the authorities don't want to encourage people to kill anyone that illegally enters their house. We don't have castle laws in Virginia; legally, you can't just start blasting away at burglars because they're in your house. You can only use lethal force if you feel that your life is in immediate danger.

Yes, I've heard the argument of, "if someone breaks into my home, I assume they're willing to kill me and will react accordingly." That's fine, but when you shoot them, you'd better pray you A) kill them and B) they have a weapon on them.

One hilarious thing that this bullshit story quickly glosses over: the two fictional robbers get their gun through another home invasion, but that time they only had a knife. The real moral of this story is not, "If you invade someone's home, you will get shot." It's actually, "If someone invades your home, you have a 50% chance of getting to your gun in time to defend yourself."

They are verifiable and are newspaper/media accounts of incidents
where people have used firearms in self-defense.

After making a delivery around 10:30 p.m., a pizza delivery driver in Hanover, County, Va. headed back to his vehicle. As he approached the car, the driver was met by a robber armed with a rifle. The driver asked the criminal to drop his gun several times, but when the robber did not comply the driver drew a gun and shot the criminal. The criminal was struck in the face and has been listed in critical condition at a local hospital. Police believe the robber had accomplices nearby during the incident.

Two armed robbers kicked in the door of a residence in Oak Ridge, Tenn., entered the bedroom of one of the occupants and ordered the resident to “give it up.†An occupant in another room heard the commotion, retrieved a handgun and confronted the criminals. Upon seeing the armed occupant, the criminals fled, one into a bathroom and the other outside the house. The criminal in the bathroom remained there until police arrived; he was later charged with aggravated burglary.

Around 11 p.m., two armed masked men entered White’s Grocery in Newport News, Va. One of the robbers held the 62 year-old owner and an employee at the point of a shotgun, while the other attempted to go behind the counter. As the criminal made his way around the counter, the store owner retrieved a gun and fired at him, striking the criminal and causing his accomplice with the shotgun to flee. The wounded criminal was identified as Barry Lee Hooker and was taken to a local hospital. This was not Hooker’s first time on the wrong side of the law; his record shows two outstanding warrants for assault and battery.

Moroccan immigrant Mustapha Kassou was tending to his store, the Golden Food Market, in Richmond, Va., when James Groom entered the store armed with a gun. Groom ordered everyone in the store to get on the floor and fired at Kassou striking him twice. Kassou later said, “When the guy shot me, I was waiting for him to finish me.†After the gunfire, one of the store’s customers drew his revolver, aimed it at Groom and ordered him to drop his gun. When Groom did not comply, the armed customer fired, striking him in the torso. The customer then recovered Groom’s gun and notified the police of the incident. When the police arrived, Kassou and Grooms were taken to a local hospital. Kassou was released the next day, while Grooms remains in critical condition. When speaking with the media, Kassou praised the actions of his armed customer, stating “He saved a lot of lives… He was like an angel who came to save everybody.†The police agreed, noting that their initial investigation indicated that the customer acted within his rights. While not sure if he will reopen his store, Kassou said that if he does he will arm himself.

It's important to understand a criminal's mindset.

A criminal already has an idea of how the crime will go. When confronted with the unexpected or something they weren't prepared for, their first tendency is to flee. Most do not have the training or experience to respond to unexpected circumstances.

If someone breaks into your home, they are expecting that you will not resist, they will take what they can, and they will leave without complication. The sound of a shotgun racking throws a variable into the equation they were not planning on, making them more likely to flee than to press the attack.

Haha, about ten years ago some punkasses broke into my granpa's house in Fredericksburg. He woke up and heard them rifling thru shit out in the living room, so he took his shotgun and blasted a hole right thru the drywall of his bedroom. whoever it was took off running, they were probably shitting their pants after that whole ordeal. my grandpa has to fix the drywall on both sides and it fucked up a wooden hutch near the wall, but that suit will scare off any would-be attacker.

They have castle laws where my dad lives (deep, deep south). They also consider your car part of your castle so don't think that carjacking is easy pickings either. Breaking and entering is very low in the amount of crime that's committed down there.

Yeah it is always the cities and states with the strictest gun laws that are the ones with the worst property thefts and home invasions. Just look at DC and Virginia, two different approaches to gun control and the crime statistics are dramatically different.

I always found it stupid as hell, that the places where you need a gun most, you aren't allowed to have one.
