I won't read your blog site to see these 10 reasons. However, I do have my own reasons. Some years, we have our Holiday party in the lobby of our work facility. After you get about 7 or 8 bottles of beer in you, you start to become depressed if you look down the aisle and see your work area.

Sure, the company is saving a few bucks, but I'd rather get away from the work complex for a Holiday party.

My firm had its party on Friday (after a year hiatus). Folks apparently had some steam to blow off. There will be lots of water cooler chat monday morning....

My company always had theirs on a Saturday night. No thanks. I have 48 hours away from work and don't want to spend one minute relating my weekend to work unless it's mandatory. Hence my not attending since 2003. Thankfully, the imploding economy has pretty much killed this tradition. It was dying anyway (less attendance each year). Now I don't have the pressure of worrying about saying "not attending".

We had this chick at my job who was always sure to get absolutely retarded whenever there was alcohol around, and she got horny, too. So it was worth it to go to company parties just to watch her antics. In fact, because of her, we no longer have those kind of parties. It's a shame that one clown has to wreck it for everyone else, but she was the only reason to go to one of those things anyway.

Holiday parties on the weekend are lame. The best holiday parties are the ones that start on noon on a workday and end with people riding on luggage carts down a hotel hall nine hours later.
