I was about to ramble on about how silly it is to riot about not getting a subsidized college education, but maybe the amount of taxes these limey creeps are paying justifies the outrage. I heard on the radio this afternoon thatPrince Charles was attacked and his car rocked. It's a testament to some pretty shitty police and security work if they let that happen.

Yeah, I was reading an article on this. The car is a 1977 Rolls Royce, I wonder how much it will cost to repaint it. Notice the dented trunk lid too.

Back window cracked. I'm sure the window is bullet proof. Classic Rolls parts (hand produced).

For London which is supposed to have police surv cams everywhere, I am really surprised at the boldness of these attacks, I mean they do have Scotland Yard over there to investigate who threw the paint or fucked with the car. If they don't treat it as a very serious matter, they are fools.

I've seen these mobs at the IMF protests in the city. Most of these kids are pussies of the lowest degree who feel empowered by the fact the police are really instructed to be hands off with them. There's probably not a cop on the force male or female that any of these punks could beat one on one, but they completely out of control and in their faces like they are strong or something.

I hate to root for Chief Wiggam, but I'd really like to see some batons cracking haeds and some fear in these little college faggots faces as they learn a valuable lesson about the use of force.

The students are pissed because currently, their tuition is $4,700. Under the new "proposal", it will increase to $14,000. That's a hell of a jump - and, I can see their reasons for being quite irritated.

Call it what you want in England - but becoming more like the US is not the answer for that country or most European countries for that matter.

I do agree with the some of the welfare measures (i.e. setting limits as opposed to welfare for life) I know many people in England that are okay not working. They don't live an outstanding life by most measures but they do just fine and are happy with their lot in life.

I believe in education and raising the rates for the middle/upper classes akin to costs in the US makes it difficult to educate the future of England.

I imagine rioting will increase as the govt wants to reduce its own workforce by 500,000. Imagine the US govt doing that on an equivalent scale it would have to layoff upwards of a million federal workers.

Though you may decry protesters, and I do sometimes when I've been inconvenienced by them...I like that they protest and are vociferous in their anger. This country could really do with a dose of that sometimes but people here are so muted and polite (sheeplike) towards their govt. I'm still getting used to that. The media even more so (both "liberal" and right-wing fawn over pro-business/military agendas). Anyway, enough political crap from me, tis bedtime.

I do think a case could be made to shoot them if they broke open the doors of a federal office downtown, and actually began to storm into it (Which is what they did in London). Being in the streets acting a fool is one thing, but doing a B&E into a secure facility is a whole different ball game. Thankfully, so far as I know we've pretty much prevented that sort of scenario (I guess we can chalk it up to good perimeter security).

I met a few of these anarchist types Downtown during President GW Bush's second inauguration. They were typical assholes, and when you tried to say anything to them, they got this look on their face like they were about to scream and throw shit. It was because of them, that I was locked out from gaining access to the parade route. The fags tried to scale a security barrier, and van loads of tactical swarmed the place. They tear gassed the POS, and I remember seeing some of them with tears streaming down their face as they left the scene.

Well tisn't comfort to my level or very likely yours but it's much better than anything in the US. They will subsidize your living (council flats usually - i.e. projects), transport, food, and a stipend on top of it.

England spends ~26% of it's GDP on social causes (including education), I believe the US spends ~19%.

As for the education costs Rambunctious - the GDP in England is much lower than in the US. Jacking up the rates 3x is quite a shock for the majority of families in England. It would be the equivalent of taking that 9k fee and changing it 27k. Just try and put it in perspective and you can appreciate the anger.

Also note that PackLeader wants to shoot people for breaking into a government facility, but no mention is made of breaking into and vandalizing private homes or businesses.
