Not so sure. The embalming process has essentially plasticized corpses to the point that decomposition is not quick to set in. Add to that the stainless steel coffins that are used for many dead people, and you've kinda deprived worms of their naturally assigned task.

The jews and muslims have it right....Simple pine box, and returned to the earth.

John Lennon had little to do with the success of The Beatles, "Octopus's Garden" was all Ringo's idea!

It would be interesting to see a revisionist history of the Beatles based on Ringo being the focus of the band.

LOL, with a scene of Ringo designing the cover of The White Album.

LOL. Yeah, it would be something like the amplifier scene from Spinal Tap and a scene from Seinfeld.

Ringo: You see, the cover will be nothing - that's the thing.
Paul: I don't get it. It is blank. What is the album going to be called.
Ringo: It does not need a name - it is nothing. But maybe we can put the Beatles on it if you are concerned about album sales.
Paul: Mmmm hmmm....I see. But what is the name of the album? It needs a proper name. Can we call it something? How about Mother Nature's Son - that is the best song of the lot.
Ringo: Sod off Paul.

I didn't know that one sone MADE the group the success they were. That band alone is what we all of rock that followed. You had to be there and lived it to really understand. I am sure all of you young unknowing fools will continue to make your worthless comments, but those old enough to have been there understand.

BigK sounds like a candidate for TheMeeper's beer stealing scheme.

Say what you will about Ringo's talent and place in the band, but he by far sounds like the coolest and most down to Earth of the bunch.

I was always thinking he was going to be the next Beatle to die after John, becasue Ringo used to drink like a fish, but he's outlived George now too.

Paul and John mand the early group, no doubt. Later the others made contributions that helped carry the group in other directions. I have alot of other bands I really enjoy but they were the best ever.

lol..yeah, i always hated them as a couple.
But, did you see the "LennoNYC" special on PBS?

I have more respect for her now since i watched that.
Whether you liked her music or not, she was a serious artist.
I think John was pulling her down.
I think John depended on her like a kid depends on a mother.

I remember I was listening to the radio at work when the news broke. Those days I probably would have been tuned to Q107 Don't remember the DJ who made the announcement - Uncle Johnny? Doug Limerick? Anyway, what I remember most was a simple announcement and back to business. The next song that played had the lyrics "if looks could kill they probably will in games without frontiers, war without tears....". What was the NAME of THAT SONG??? Never cared for John Lennon or Beatles though. Sorry.

Reminds me of a story I heard..

When Harry Chapin ( a mopey folk singer who did "Cats in the Cradle" and "Taxi") died in a car wreck, some guy called DC101

He says- "I was very saddened to hear about the unexpected death of singer songwriter Harry Chapin in a car accident this morning.....Could ya play some Sabbath??"
