i have a thing for them. albert spaggiari is my favorite. i've taken note of (and have an interest in) criminal behavior here on ffu.

Nothing official - when I was 18 I was travelling in Central America this was back when the whole Contra war was raging. So I'm crossing into Nicaragua on the bus on the Pan American Hwy - and the "border police" see my British passport so they demand that I pay for a visa - well no one else had to pay so I said no, several times. They handcuff me, drag me off the bus and I get to spend 7 hours in a prison in Nicaragua!

After a bit, I ask and eventually get the number for the British embassy...all they can do is find me an English speaking lawyer or call my parents. So I pay them their $200...out I go...their bloody amigo a couple beers later - on the next bus I go.

Lesson learned from that...whenever travelling always carry $400 cash for "prepayment" of fines. I've been able to "prepay" fines in Fairfax Co, Mont Co, Germany, Tunisia, and Central Africa Republic (though honestly in CAR..it's like de rigeur).

That's my jail story...so nothing like right proper hard core criminal but I have been in a shitty Central American jail during a war!

I was in the cut, with Stinger Boo, Foo Boo, and Majin Boo. We kicked serious fear into all the shorty boos, who we would do serious things to.

muse, you should check out Gerald Daniel Blanchard. Wired did a piece on him sometime in the past year. Interesting story.

One time, I hijacked a plane for ransom and eventually parachuted from it into the Pacific Northwest. To this day I've never been caught.
