yo whats up...i was just wondering how many musicians roam these boards. if you are one, what instrument(s) do you play? do you know theory or play by ear? how long have you been playing? what did you start with? are you in a band? etc etc. if you're a guitarist/bassist , describe your rig, and so on and so forth, you get the idea.

lol... im not one for crude jokes but that was funny.
"the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish."
I've played guitar for about 7 years. I taught myself, I don't know theory. I taught myself how to play drums about 3-4 years ago...not amazing at either but I'm not a wannabe either, I'm musically inclined. Never played in a serious band, but jammed with a lot of people. My rig is a joke because I've never played in a band. I've played in backing bands for shows in front of about 800 people. And have sang/played acoustically in front of 75 but I can't sing. It easy for me to sing and play at the same time and I know the notes, which is why I want to take vocal lessons at some point so I could put myself to some musical use. Word up. What do you play?

Oh yeah, I have your standard Mexican Strat and an Alvarez acoustic from 1969-1970 that still plays quite well. and a beat up drum set with a cracked ride that I haven't played in over a year. I record on my laptop when I'm in the mood with Cubase.
i've been playing guitar for about five or six years, and singing for about three years.. i also mess around on bass, piano, and djembes. i haven't taken any guitar lessons, although i have taken a few classes of singing lessons. i've learned music theory from a variety of sources, predominantly online. i know enough theory to get me by- i can jam and improvise...but its nothing wildly impressive.
i use an Ibanez RG series electric and I have a few different acoustics I've collected over the years... my latest is a martin backpacker, a cool little axe i bought off a friend for real cheap.
i use a fender 212R amp and a DigiTech multi effects pedal.

Pbech, would you recommend singing classes? I'm not tone deaf; I have a good ear, but it doesn't sound natural when I sing. I hope to find MY voice and learn how to breathe properly. Do you have any recommendations of how to go about it/locations/what to expect?
