For those of you who have been to the small town of Remington in Fauquier County...

Have you seen that big fenced off area that is marked as Government property? Anyone know what goes on there? I haven't been able to find anything about it online. It seems like it's top secret or something that is kept under wraps.

Its the Army. Its somehow tied into the warrenton training center as well as the army communication center off carrico mills road (rt 669) in culpeper county. I dont know what goes on there but I work on a repeater tower there thats used by Fauquier from time to time. Its definitly the Army and they have good security throughout the grounds.

Might it be site C, aka BRANDY, as described here: http://www.blackcatsystems.com/numbers/WarrentonTC.html ?

It's at the intersection of Sumerduck and Strodes Mill road.

Don't know if this http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=remington,+va&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=62.057085,84.375&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Remington,+Fauquier,+Virginia&ll=38.519262,-77.785209&spn=0.007622,0.0103&t=h&z=17 is what you're talking about but it certainly doesn't look like plain old farmland. To the north-northeast of this place are a couple sites that look like oil-generated electricty plants, so there's plenty of spare reliable power available. Vint Hill (within a few miles of here) used to be a major radio-spook joint, wouldn't be surprising if the site pointed at above is something like a Navy low-frequency communication thingee (really low frequency) or something similar.
