so my dl, sscard, and birth certificate were stolen in june of 2008.

recently i accessed my yahoo account and my location had been changed to kansas city, kansas. (never been there)
upon attempt to access my facebook page (save the jokes for later), i was alerted that someone attempted to access it in kansas city.
i just signed up for pandora and began receiving ads for merchants in kansas city.

as a result, i've googled myself but found nothing.

they can have my student loans; i just don't want to go to jail for a crime i didn't commit.

any suggestions?

First, get copies of everything that indicates your stuff is being used fraudulently.

Then, notify any lenders, creditors, etc.

Probably most importantly, look at your credit report (you're entitled to one free one per year) and make sure they haven't opened any accounts in your name.

Of course, notifying the police is on the agenda. If you're stuff's being used fraudulently interstate, that may be a federal crime.

That was a long time ago... Did you report it to anyone?

Why did you have all your important documents together in a not-so-secure location?

Were you traveling when it was stolen? Did someone break into your house to steal it? Where they were stolen from is an important piece of info.

Do you really think that's related? Where on your Birth Certificate does it show your yahoo mail account information? Why would someone want to use your yahoo?

If you haven't already, report that your documents have been stolen. You may need to have a new SSCard issued to you. Maybe put a block on your credit... Check it to make sure there isn't another "you" out there.

I really doubt that the Facebook and Yahoo stuff is related to your missing documents.

Then buy a safe or something...

yes, i was traveling when all was stolen and i did report it.
my credit report is in the clear, so far.
i dunno how or even if it's related.
the internet assaults have all gone down in the last two days
and it's really creepy to me.
