Just curious what makes people think Jesus Looked like this. There are no descriptions of him anywhere in the New Testament.

I doubt he was as attractive as the stereotypical images we're all used to. He's always clean, in excellent shape and scholarly looking for someone who mucks around in the desert, talking to snakes and hanging around a bunch of groupies.
In Isaiah, he is described like this,
“He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.â€

It's propaganda. During the Crusades, the church didn't want to portray Jesus as looking like the people they were on their way to kill in the name of Jesus.

He probably looked more like this:

Jesus looks like the majority looks like so if you're in Ethiopia - Jesus is black, in northern England - blonde and blue eyed with wavy hair.

Given the location he came from he very likely had a Middle Eastern/Egyptian look (i.e. thick black hair, probably curly, brown eyes, tan skin).

Actually 'Numbers', there is a description of Jesus in the new testament you dumbass.

Feet like brass, soft white wooly hair, ect, are all DESCRIPTIVE terms.

John's description continues: "Moreover, his head and his hair were white as white wool, as snow, and his eyes as a fiery flame."
(Revelation 1:14)

"And his feet were like fine copper when glowing in a furnace; and his voice was as the sound of many waters."
(Revelation 1:15)

According to the legend, Jesus was a carpenter. That suggests deep tan, large muscles, lots of calluses, maybe considerable hand/arm scarring.

From the middle east.

The image above, http://mattstone.blogs.com/photos/christian_art_middle_east/arab_jesus_by_theapokalypseshovel.jpg , makes sense other than, perhaps, the eye color.

Wasn't the Book of Revelation written much later? Therefore, not by someone who knew what Jesus looked like?

Wasnt the entire Bible written and rewritten numerous times? Just as recently as 300 years ago?

Ok then, wasn't the first draft of the Book of Revelation written much later thatn the first drafts of the others? People have always changed religion to suit their particular needs. Also, wouldn't the description from Troll make Jesus an albino?

Maybe he did look similar to the genetic trait of Albinism.
Why fixate on what his flesh and hair appeared like anyways?

Is it just me, or is somebody talking to themself under different
user names and anon-screen names in this thread?

Jesus would NOT approve of this behavior !

John was having a vision of a scene in heaven, and saw God, not Jesus. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all being the same entity, it was just God referring to himself as God and Jesus.

Jesus, the man who walked the earth and was crucified, looked like one of the Scary Brown People.

I've read the bible a few times, I don't recall ever reading anything that describes Jesus' physical appearance. That bit you've taken is out of context, I'm in concurrence w Mr.M it wasn't Jesus that was being described. The first descriptions of Jesus' physical appearance came hundreds of years later.

But the Book of Mormon was written a little over 150 years ago, so it must be the most authoritative religious tract available!

Nothing was taken out of context, 'Britdrnva'.
The reason you don't remember reading it is because you are
too stupid to remember. And when it was put right infront of you,
you claimed it was taken out of context.

YOU LOSE.

As far as 'Mr. MeFistaFag's statement about Jesus being a 'brown person',
anyone will turn brown or tan if you stick them in the DESERT SUN.

Once again, WHY ARE SELF PROFESSED NON-BELIEVERS worrying about what a person
looked like that they claim is nothing but a ficticious character?

I recently met this beautiful blonde hair, blue eyed Palestinian girl. You would think she was Russian.

I must have been mistaken. I could have sworn that Middle-Eastern people generally had darker complexions based on all the pictures I've seen of Europeans and Middle-Easterners (or people of Persian/Arab descent, at least). Silly me.
