A Fact

It has come to my attention that most of the general public is unaware that Laura Bush, our first lady, did in fact kill a person when she was in high school. And the the crime was simply made to "go away" and she faced zero scrutiny or punishment.

God I am bored.

Laura Bush Recalls Painful Past

The Associated Press
Thursday, March 2, 2000; 7:15 p.m. EST

PROVIDENCE, R.I. –– Laura Bush, wife of GOP presidential candidate George W. Bush, on Thursday recalled the pain of a 1963 accident that killed her boyfriend, saying "it was crushing."

"All I can say about that (is) it was a very, very, tragic accident I was involved in when I was 17 years old, almost 40-something years ago," Bush said. "It was a terrible accident. It was terrible for everyone involved."

Bush said the grief remains.

"I know this as an adult, and even more as a parent, it was crushing ... for the family involved and for me as well," she said.

Bush would not comment further and quickly resumed talking about her husband.

The accident occurred Nov. 5, 1963, when Bush was talking to a friend while she was driving to a party in her hometown of Midland, Texas, the New York Post reported.

At an intersection, she apparently failed to see her boyfriend, Mike Douglas, driving south. The vehicles collided and Douglas was thrown from his doorless Jeep, breaking his neck. He died instantly.

Midland officials would not release the full accident report, referring Freedom of Information requests for the document to the attorney general of Texas. He has until May 15 to decide if he will make the report public.

An abbreviated version of the report concluded neither Douglas or Bush could be blamed for the accident, the Post reported.

BS or no, you can't argue with the police report. She ran a stop sign. She hit another car. The other driver died.

and then she got off scott-free.

Now, the fact that he was driving a Corvair (so-and-so at ANY speed) and wasn't buckled in, if he even could, doesn't mean she wasn't negligent, and in that negligence, she became a killer, also.

Thus my statement, Laura Bush is a killer.

Every time you exhale you breathe out pathogens poisonous to people in other parts of the world. The pathogens can fly there like sandstorms can fly here. So every time you breathe you are killing millions. So you are a killer too.

Times change. Forty plus years ago you'd probably have to be barrelling down the road at 20 plus mph over the speed limit, whipping between cars, tailgating and consuming alcohol in order to be cited for reckless. Now reckless is the default charge in accident cases and you can be hit for reckless merely for speeding on an empty highway in the middle of the night. I'm not surprised that forty years ago, with that description of events, she didn't get cited for reckless. I would have thought she'd get a ticket for running the stop sign though.

Except no stop sign is mentioned in the article. We tend to think in terms of some sort of traffic control being at every intersection these days. Back then and there..I doubt there was any.

Why thank you. A COMPLETE fool. I am impressed with myself.

And to think I was given this great honor by a total coward.

Things surely are looking up.
