Google Car Drives Itself

Personally I've haven't cared much for keeping my eyes on the road since airbags were invented, this only makes things easier.

"Anyone driving the twists of Highway 1 between San Francisco and Los Angeles recently may have glimpsed a Toyota Prius with a curious funnel-like cylinder on the roof. Harder to notice was that the person at the wheel was not actually driving."

I wonder how big the lawsuit will be when one of those things either:

-runs straight over a small child OR
-mistakes a dog or doll for a child and swerves, causing a lethal multi-car pileup

I think so too. A couple of lousy run over toddlers will probably shelf this breakthrough and keep America in the Dark Ages.

Finally an invention that will let people pay even less attention behind the wheel!

It's OK, it's running Apple software. Nothing ever goes wrong with an Apple product, ever. Not even the "ringer or vibrate only" switch on your stupid goddamn iPhone, which definitely doesn't leave the ringer on in the "vibrate only" position 50% of the time so I get woken up at 7:30AM when I have the day off.

Nope. Nothing like that.

P.S. Nobody bother making a gay "vibrate only" joke. I just beat you to it, and only dumbasses are unoriginal like that.

Nothing more than an advanced form of cruise control.

Question I have is that sometimes descisions we make on the roads are not the most logical and can not be programed into a computer. Like for instance if a tractor trailer begins to cut you off, speeding up and even briefly braking the speed limit may prevent an accident. These sytems should have an eye monitoring system so if the driver were to fall asleep during a trip, the computer would pull itself to the shoulder and maybe put the car into auto shut off mode for like an hour or two. This would force the driver to take a nap. Auto anti-intoxication monitoring devices should be installed also so no secondary human backup-pilot is drunk behind the wheel 100% relying on the car to drive them around like a drunk piece of shit that they are. Or maybe the car could just go into drunk asshole mode and drive 25 mph everywhere with the flashers on.

Can you text and/or eat if you're not actually driving?

If this ever became everyday technology, it would only be a matter of time before someone creates malware that causes crashes, cars running off cliffs, into trees, etc.

I'm sure you and Gravis would be the ones behind it!
