To all those restaurants out there that don't believe in putting coat hooks on the outside of their booths...is it really too much to fucking ask to have a place to hang a coat?

I get so fucking tired of places where you have to drape an overcoat over a chair or lay it down on the booth seat. And I am talking about places that have one fucking coat tree for dozens of customers. It's worse when you are at a bar, because then you have to lay the thing on your fucking stool or take another stool up.

It does suck if you have 4 people at a booth in the winter. All the coats take up a ton of room.

It's even worse with motorcycle jackets.

Just leave your coat in the car if it is a problem, can you seriously not walk ten feet without freezing to death?

But to be more serious I can't hang coat hangers because with winter coats there the fire marshal complains there isn't enough space between booths and other tables even though you and me would both agree standing there that there is plenty of room. So if I put up hangers I have to move out four or five tables to keep the fire marshal happy, and though I understand the convenience that is too hard a hit to my bottom line.

If you leave the coat in the car it gets all cold and you have to warm up your coat with your body heat when you leave, which largely negates the purpose of the coat for a while.

Yeah, that's really annoying. Half of the time I leave the coat in the car, which sucks when it's raining or 20 degrees outside and the other half I just stuff everything into a corner. Both options suck. Plus, what if I put my coat on a coat tree and some dipshit with lice or bedbugs puts his coat over mine? No thanks.

I carry a coathanger around with me all the time, threaded through my beltloops and tucked under my belt. It also comes in handy for impromptu abortions.
