One time I was on the metro and there was a group of high school students from either (I forget) Madrid or Barcelona on the train with me.

They were not threatening at all.

In fact they could easily have been mistaken for well behaved students from Chantilly or Centreville except of course the way they dressed and talked was very different.

Definitely more Euro than American.

No spanish here. What we refer to spanish here is more like a central american indian. Short, fat with a low IQ. I often wonder why we call the central american indians (aka Mexicans) Spanish. IF I was spanish from spain I would be insulted.

For some reason I remember hearing alot of really negative comments from my Spanish relatives about Puerto Ricans while I was growing up. Not sure why, but there was a general disdain for PR. My grandfather, who was very "old world Spain", used to think anyone from this hemisphere speaking Spanish was basically some goddamn indian.

Actually, almost everyone who comes here from Europe comments on just how greater our standard of living is when compared to theirs (Yes, I've heard this from Brits too). People here have larger houses, more land, newer vehicles (As well as more of them), and easier access to everyday items (In Europe, you have to shop around at various stores to get everything you want, whereas here we have supermarkets with everything stocked in them).
