Demokrat Hoyer: Passing Tax Cuts "Specious" but they pass other bills

Steny Hoyer, demokrat from the people's republik of maryland, said on FOX News Sunday last weekend (September 26) that the House will not hold a vote on extending the Bush-era tax cuts because the Senate was not in session and holding such a vote would be "specious" http://www.talkleft.com/story/2010/9/27/111719/227 .
We all know the demokrats are pathetik, despikable slippery liars. How do they square that with holding other votes the following week with the Senate out?

They should have held the vote to show how idiotic the Republicans are. That was one was they could have stemmed the tide, having Democrats voting for a middle-class tax cut and Republicans voting against it. Opportunity lost.
