Trimming fingernails

In what order do you trim your fingernails? I just realized today this morning that I have been doing it the same way for years. I start with the left hand and clip the thumb, middle and pinky fingers in that order. Then I come back and do the ring and index finger. I switch up and do the same order on the right hand. Never cognizant of this until today but I find it kind of interesting.

i start with my left thumb, palm facing down, then flip my hand over so the palm is facing up with my fingers curled in and cut the index, middle, ring, then pinkie finger. i use the same method on my right hand and have done this for years.

Edit: i am also right handed.

Real men grow out their fingernails and file them into claw-like points which are then painted black.

I'm lucky. When my nails get too long, they just fall off. It's a real time saver.

No, the fungus takes over when your fingernails grow out.

What I'm really interested in, is how long folks generally grow their nails. Are you wolverine, or a tree frog?

You're just jealous that my nails are maintenance free.

Maybe so, but hey, it's working. One nail just fell off last night.

Seems like a random order every time. Usually there will be one or two that are really standing out and catch my attention during the day and I'll start on those once I'm near my clippers. Then I'll do most, but not necessarily all, of the others, depending on how they look. But yeah, I'd say no order.

I start by trimming my left pinkie, then clip in order by finger until I finish with the left thumb. Then I trim the right thumb and go straight across my right hand in order until I finish with my right pinkie. I basically go from left to right, like reading a sentence.
(I'm right-handed, btw)
