On Twitter over the weekend, the far-right influencer Jack Posobiec called for Mr. Trump’s supporters to launch a “MAGA strike” and withdraw their money from banks en masse in an apparent effort to harm the financial system. Other Trump supporters circulated the main telephone number of Mr. Bragg’s office on social media and encouraged people to call and demand that charges not be filed against Mr. Trump.

Far darker messages were posted on pro-Trump chat boards like Patriots.win, a website formerly known as TheDonald.win, according to a review of social media by the The New York Times and by Advance Democracy Inc., a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that conducts public interest research. In its final report last year, the House select committee investigating Jan. 6 determined that TheDonald.win served as an important nexus for people to discuss and make plans for the Capitol attack.

it's actually pretty easy, all they need to do is find 100,000 people who are willing to withdraw $400,000 in cash from their bank account, and bam! there's 40 billion.

Well considering everybody who publicly supported Trump has had their businesses wrecked, we can rule out any business owners who are withdrawing.

The other half of Trump supporters are broke ass white trailer trash that are on welfare so they are not withdrawing.

Plus, who is this $400,000 being withdrawn? Cashier check of straight cash? A bank isn't going to have $400,000 in cash just sitting around. A cashier check is going to be cashed within a day.

The FDIC would just reimburse the banks for the money quickly.

The FDIC only insures deposits up to a certain amount.

The bank would have to go out and borrow the cash or sell off assets to get the money. FDIC only steps in if the bank is insolvent and has no means of meeting the obligation.

No, FDIC can step in and loan banks to keep them going. That's what happened in the SVB bank.

This may surprise you, but the bank doesn't actually have to give you your money on demand.

They will just refuse to do it. (Eventually, within like 6 weeks, they will cough it up. But it's not like you can walk in there and walk out with a check. And you certainly aren't going to get cash, because they definitely don't have that much.)
