I went to Clyde’s for thanksgiving dinner and some drinks

Estranged from my ex and kids for 5 years now and didn’t feel like being cooped up at home for the holidays this year. Was nice to get a good meal and some drinks. Lots of other loners were there too. Nice to know I’m not alone in being alone. This was the first thanksgiving since my life and kids left me I didn’t feel like drinking anti freeze. I’m thankful for that. Maybe Christmas will be better too? A guy can have hope. Happy thanksgiving everyone.

I read somewhere that there are more single people living alone than in many decades. Get out there and meet some people - if that's what you are feeling like doing.

OP your tale of woe is indeed sad, but I liked the way you ended it on an optimistic note and said you were looking forward to Christmas. May I suggest you get yourself a nice present this year, rather than buying for others. Go on one of those singles cruises or get yourself a hooker. You deserve it after the way your ex wife treated you! Happy holidays!
