How many people have been shot in mass killings of 4 or more must be fact checked I saw it on the FBIs web site , but it can be difficult to get a straight story on their statistics
It Stated the numbers of people shot in the USA since they began record keeping of mass shootings which started in 1966 after Charles Whitman opened fire atop the U of Texas Tower in Austin killing I think 14 people before a brave police officer of Spanish decent was able to gun him down, one of the dead was a s,all fragile lady who ran the small visitors center there , Whitman killed her in cold blood with the butt of a M1 rifle , so she was bludgoned to death not shot
The numbers that need to be checked are the total since 1966 who have been shot in mass shootings of 4 or more in the United States, shot means shot either wounded or killed in a shooting of over 4 people which the FBI defines as a mass shooting .
I totaled up their mass shooting count and it was less then 1500 people nation wide since 1966 and now can not find those statistics on their site
So let's get some facts checked to see what it is , also the numbers of those killed by " assault weapons " handguns shotguns rifles and all types of cutting instruments as knives and swords as "shot" does not describe the type of firearm used to shoot the victims
