A background check may not cause denial of the gun, just allow the business owner to make a decision based on facts.
In addition, your defining infringement that narrowly would prevent anyone of being checked on.

The individuals have a right to a firearm. Convicted Felons lose constitutional rights of voting and firearms. Putting up roadblocks is infringing. Proving citizenship is the only reasonable impediment as it is with voting.
