Have you ever lied on a job application?

My current role is “customer service analyst” and I wasn’t getting any calls back from jobs I applied to, so I changed my title on my resume to business analyst and I’m all of a sudden getting calls for interviews, especially big 4 firms and contractors. I am not all that worried about taking such liberties with my resume because the differences between such titles seem negligible, but I’ve heard of people claiming education and credentials that absolutely don’t have. Have you done this?

You might just be wasting you time. Once they interview you they'll know you lied.

In other cases when sign an employment contract with the employer most will have clauses that say something like if lied on a resume you may forfeit the money the company paid to you.

That means if a company finds out 6 months later you lied on the resume they may come back and sue you for the amount they paid you. You might end up owing the company more then you made.

Any reputable company ,Johnson & Johnson for example, will surely check on your background and credentials, any company that requires a Security Clearance will likewise. What you explain is a misrepresentation aka a lie. You will not be eligible to work there. They figure if you lie on little things you will lie on big things. Same as stealing, if you take home a pen, you'll take home a computer if given the chance, and feel you will get away with it.

Game theory:

You never would have gotten the job had you not lied, so even if they catch you at this point, you did better than you would have. And there's a damn good chance they don't catch you.

Always lie on your resume; it only increases the chances you get the job.

On my application to be a college professor, I said I was an American Indian. I am as white as snow. And guess what - they fell for it! By the way, I am a lying Democrat, although that is redundant. POW Wow Chow, anyone?

Lying about the skills or experience you don't have on your resume is such a waste. Mention the skill which you know so that you can explain it better in the cross-questioning. CV writing Dubai is the resume writing agency that writes the cv of the individuals according to their skills, talents, and experiences.

I think it's wrong to lie in hiring. If you do not know what to put on your resume, it is better to ask for advice from https://resumeedge.com/blog/why-do-you-need-a-great-resume or for help in writing. It will be a better decision.
