Like Israel? Also, the US used the draft for every major war, including the Civil War and both World Wars. Are you saying the US wasn't great until 30 years ago?

Yes. But if you had conscription, we would be more judicious in the way we select going to wars. It isn't a coincidence that Afghanistan is the longest-running war in U.S. history and it is also one of the few that didn't involve the draft.

So does Israel. Seriously, lots of democracies have conscription. To somehow link it to a dictatorship is idiotic.
