Meade Skelton to deliver eulogy for Meat Loaf

Numerous reports are saying that Meade Skelton will deliver the eulogy at his best friend Meat Loafs funeral at the family’s request. Apparently Meade is in the process of making travel arrangements. The funeral will be private, with no cameras or press allowed, but hopefully the family will release a transcript of Meade’s tribute to his lifelong friend. I’m sure it will be profound,moving and beautiful. Meade always knows the right thing to say at times like these.

I’m glad you mentioned Meade’s singing of the national anthem at the inauguration. That was one of the best renditions I have ever heard. Meade has a wonderful voice.

Meade was offered a kingly sum of money to perform at half time, but is boycotting the NFL because they made the Redskins change their name. He told them, 'change it back and stop this pc nonsense and I'll sing for free, but until then, no amount of money is going to convince me to perform for this corrupt organization'.

Gotta admit, the man has integrity!

Though it was not widely publicized at the time, Meade also attended the memorial service for Tom Petty in October 2017. The service was limited to family and close friends and no accounts were ever published. Meade has spoken in the past of the profound influence Petty had on his music, and it is believed Petty may have produced Meades breakthrough album, Meade Music.
