Did Meade quit Publix or did Publix quit Meade?

Meade makes it sound like he “quit” due to some arbitrary mask rule, but it sounds more like the people at Publix gave Meade a hard time about what was on his mask to induce him to quit. How could anyone stand to work with someone like him more than a month is beyond me.

Meade had worked there long enough to know what the mask policy was and he chose to intentionally violate it. Why is Meade such a snowflake that he thinks he deserves special treatment?

I worked at one of the big delivery companies and they had like 100 petty rules and the purpose of that was to always have cause to fire someone who they wanted gone. A good, efficient driver who was a reasonable person was left alone. A mouthy, obnoxious complainer would be fired for wearing a mask that said Merry Christmas, for example.

He refused to wash his hands after using the toilet. that's the real reason they wanted him out. Meade thinks its Communist indoctrination

You are not wrong about almost all of this. A dress code is a bit different since that is a direct image to a customer. If the rule is everyone wears a plain facemask then one with any writing is going to stand out. It isn't something petty that they pulled out just to fire Meade. I have no doubt Meade wore it in defiance of the rule to make a point. The point? Meade has no understanding of how the real world works.
