The Planck Length

The planck length is the smallest unit of measure that's possible to understand under General Relativity.

Can anyone here put it into layman's terms? What's your best description? How can something be too small to describe?

I can understand the theoretical planck-temperature and planck-time, but both are based on planck-length. I understand the relativistic relationship between mass and time, I just have a hard time relating those concepts to the spatial dimensions they're based on.

Who here is good enough to speak about this stuff?

of course it's very small.

but how can a unit be so small that it can't be smaller? too small to be cut in half? a length that defies the concept of infinity?

quantum mechanics is completely fucked up when you think about it.

The length of the plank, determines the distance one must walk to their demise.

Clearly they are moving toward the “ipod Planck,” which would be the smallest ipod possible (while still being recognizable as an ipod). Also, the number of songs it will be able to store will be limited by its surface area, and not its volume.

One prob, if I filled my iPod Plank with music, it would turn into a black hole. Isn’t that rather inconvenient?

Of course, then I could just drop more songs into it, and the capacity would automatically increase.

I’m really waiting to see how apple will make the interface user friendly.
