I WOULD GUESS JAPAN HAS CERTAIN FINANCIAL INTERESTS IN TAIWAN

(many may not realize many asian countries who sell products in usa such as Japan and Sony are actually made from chinese tawiwanese and malaysian parts or assembled in those countries)

THE ONLY ISSUE SHOULD BE CHINA LEVYING TAXES - which by USA law are assumed for social service and defense of the county against hostile militaries

Taiwan is claiming to be it's own country before WWII - that I have no idea.

The only issue should be if China intends to provide service to and tax Taiwan

(THE ISSUE OF WHETHER CHINA WOULD TAKE OVER TSMC - THE PRODUCER OF ALL CELLPHONE CHIPS - SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE - AS CHINA NEVER INVESTED IN THAT so should not be able to tax it - by a very well known law as post-facto law, attempt to make laws to "delete the past" including past abuses)

USA of course is in the same boat with Japan on seizure of assets. We have investments there (how many that were not sold by criminals Clinton Obama Biden stealing from the public - that's another question and worth asking).

This is a problem for USA - when you say "pick a foreign government" you know you shouldn't be getting involved.

And those who want to be involved could merely be trying to spread their own political power WITHOUT HAVING VESTED INTEREST IN TSMC AND OTHER REAL INTERESTS

USA should ONLY protect their financial interests. They should only attack china if and when CHINA makes an armed move (to steal outright or heavily tax) on USA financial interests we are "invested in".
