I bought a whole pineapple from Super H Mart the other day. Cut it up for breakfast this morning. That thing burned the hell out of my mouth and tongue. That ever happen to anyone else? I've never had a problem with pineapple before. And the same thing happened to my wife, so it's gotta be the pinapple itself rather than some wierd allergy.

That happens with some pineapples that aren't 100% ripe. Just too damn acidic.

pineapples are fuckin gross.

But peaches are yummeh.

Pineapples Sugar/acid ratio and ascorbic acid content vary considerably with the fruit. The sugar content may change from 4% to 15% during the final 2 weeks before full ripening.Therefore it is highly acidic until ripe.

Toxicity

When unripe, the pineapple is not only inedible but poisonous, irritating the throat and acting as a drastic purgative.

Excessive consumption of pineapple cores has caused the formation of fiber balls (bezoars) in the digestive tract.

do u have to get those (bezoards) surgicly removed? or do they exit the body with time

Has this been medically proven in the last 2 decades???
or is it some rumor being propagated across the gulliblenet?

They inject them with bleach to keep them from going bad as fast. You've permanently damaged your throat.
