“NASA is not only a space exploration agency,” Bolden concluded, “but also an earth improvement agency.”

I think all he's saying is that muslims should get more involved with science and cosmology. This is a good thing for all of us.

If we can teach muslims about astrophysics and evolution, hopefully they'll stop believing in their silly fairy tales and become sane and productive members of society.

A proper education is the best and possibly only way to cure Islam.

I am assuming the above is a joke, much of our modern mathematics comes from Arabic roots. But making Islamic nation relations one of a three-legged mission from Obama to his NASA administrator is dumb and has nothing to do with the agency's raison d'être.

Hell fuckin' ya! NASA could train the towel heads to wear diapers, drive cross country with knives ,duct tape, guns, you name it. Some good old Astronaut fun to be had by all. Lets go to outer-space and get freeky with those seventy virgins.

You forget that the guy is damn near half MUSLIM HIMSELF, of course he is gonna reach out to them and play the great diplomatic one and go boldly where no cracka president has gone before. It's just a trifling shame he doesn't understand that redirecting the mission and objectives of a historical-and importantant agency like NASA is a foolish move and one I would expect a first or second grader to make if given the task of running the day to day operations of our entire country.
