They were people. I know what you mean and all, but they're still human beings. I will not debate the point that they deserved what they got - they did. The only thing I was getting at with my post was that some people might not want to see a limbless torso hit the ground (regardless of whether or not it was once the centerpiece of a terrorist asshole). Personally I thought the video was great.

I hope it was my tax dollars that brought that missle and trained the guys to shoot it.

Also I love how the goats, I assume their girlfriends, haul ass at :13. I can imagine one guy turning to another just before they are hit saying "Do you hear something"

It really depends on the type. In this case a basic $18,000 Hellfire missile would work.

No need for a more advanced Hellfire missile @ $66,000 to blow up 3 terrorists.

I'm glad that Firrat from Fairfax Underground knows better than whatever commander in Iraq ordered this strike.

This video is always one of my favorite because they are running like hell to get away from the ac130 gunship but dont stand a chance + its not too gory.

The IED cost $30 to make. A Hellfire $68k. I'm glad these guys are dead, but looking at the basic math, this is unwinnable for us.

Sure - but usually that means boots on the ground in the area. Drones are stand off attack platforms, and as such, it costs a bit more to be able to accurately target and kill what you are looking at. A 68K missile was well worth the lives saved in most people's minds.

Long story short, Vince was our age during the Vietnam War. He has boasted on here several times that he was able to get out of the draft. If you Jerry Rubin's posts, he constantly makes fun of the fact Vince dodged the draft but acts like some military expert.

Precisely. Back in the day, Draft Dodgers thought they were being cute but
now they pay the price. In the world of Vietnam vets, they are lower than
whale shit in the Atlantic. It amuses me when someone like Vince starts
spouting off about military matters when they've never worn a pair of
combat boots and somehow think playing with plastic soldiers in the back
yard and watching MASH makes them an expert. Laughable at best. Also,
note that Vince didn't contribute anything of substance to this thread
and only made fun of those of us who have served. My thanks to Ramblin

I somewhat agree with this. I only enjoy watching them get blown up since they were setting that bomb up to watch us get blown up.

Vietnam didn't start out as an unpopular war. It became one because of the draft and because there was no clear strategy to win.

There are no clear strategies for victory in Iraq or Afghanistan. The hope of the "powers that be" is that the lack of a draft will allow for unlimited latitude to conduct these wars. The problem is, sooner or later our most dedicated men and women in service are going to get sick of the multiple deployments. Once you have a demoralized volunteer military, then what do you do?

Lets get our terminology correct...draft dodger-someone who when drafted left the country.
