Has anyone here ever published a book?

How difficult is the process of getting published? Would love to write and publish my own. Not expecting any big book deals with Simon & Schuster or anything.

How about "Free Things from the US Government", that was a good one.

Meade produced several record albums. I think that's better then a book.

Rats all around us
They're everywhere we go
The lies the Trumpies tell
Are miserable tales of woe

Cuz they didn't get their way
They latch onto stupid shit
Spread it round like it's all true
Haha the dumb ones believe it!

Some made their way to Congress
Where idiots DO get in
And when Cheney tells the truth
The dumb ones: they threaten!

For they cannot bear what's real
They invent what sounds good you see
It helps them sleep at night
Despite its lunacy!

Kamala makes money, off the children's book that she wrote, as it is included as part of a welcome package that illegal immigrant children receive when they cross the border.

I think that legal inquiries should be used to publish other people's books. I recently published a scanned copy of a famous book but that was a mistake. We can only use short book https://freebooksummary.com/category/pedro-paramo reviews, but full books need some extra manipulation. You can contract with a writer and sell his literary work. You can receive a percentage of the sale of the book.

I wrote a few chapters of a book that was published around 2006. It was a contract job and I only got a few thousand dollars for it. Took me less than 100 hours to write.

The primary author contacted me, is how I got the job.

It wasn't too much work to do, and I got some fast cash up front (no royalties), But it was a thrill to go into the bookstores and see my name on a real book there.

It was a technical book having to do with what passed for "the metaverse" back then.

That's the only thing that's been in bookstores, but I've written several academic things (works of like 30 pages each) that was published by universities. I get annoying come-ons from some online service telling me every damn time someone searches for my writings or downloads one. (And also some where it's not me, but someone else with the same name, usually about military strategy papers).

So, I'm a published author, barely, but writing has never been my career.

PS. I just looked in my Spam folder, and the online service mentioned above is Academia.com. And indeed someone downloaded one of my short papers from it the other day, and apparently you can leave a reason why you downloaded. They said they wanted to read it because it is referenced in a particular popular Wikipedia article about computers.

The papers are from the 80s, and I bet more people have read them than read the 2006 book. I am guessing the book probably sold less than 10,000 copies.

No I am not going to say anything more than that for obvious privacy reasons! :)

I have friends who have self-published, which is a super easy thing to do nowadays with Amazon.

They published as e-books and as print-on-demand, where the customer can order a nicely bound professional looking book (but there are none sitting in inventory anywhere).

Another friend of mine self-published his super-niche book the old fashioned way back in the 80s before there was even word processing. Every so often he orders boxes more of them so sell (mainly word of mouth referrals). I think he's on his 3d printing and probably made about $40,000 over the years (sells for like $30). It took him about 2 years at night to write his book.

I have (big shot LOL) friends who have published New York Times list books in the traditional manner. But I never asked them about the details. These people are not full-time writers; they're thinkers. I think most people hear of their books from interviews on NPR and speaking tours and such. I'm in the Acknowledgements on some of those books. (Which makes me feel special. Yes, I am that pitiful....)

I’m in the process of writing a biography . It’s taking me a lot longer because the subject is so fascinating and I keep digging up more and more information about him. I’d love for someone to give me some pointers on getting it published. I’ve tentatively titled it “Meade Skelton and the Road to Musical Glory”

Hello, I haven't published any book yet. But I am thinking about hiring a writer to write a book on my biography. I am talking about it with my friend and I hope I will find someone who will write a book for me. I want to share the https://translationreport.com/technical-translation-services link with you all in which you will find experts who will translate anything for you whether you want to translate your whole book, they will do it for you.

I have written one book and am preparing it now for publication. but first I need to make a small summary for her so that the editors can familiarize themselves with it. it was not that easy, so I turned to the summarizing web https://www.summarizing.biz/ for help. contributing with me, the author has highlighted the key points and strengths. And before delivery (which is according to the deadline), he provided a report on the uniqueness of the work.

No, I haven't published any book yet. But I am planning about it and will let you know. Right now I am busy searching for sample business continuity plans because my friend wants to know them. When I was searching for it, I saw your post and came here to gather information.

I remember shitting myself after eating at Tippy Taco’s. When I heard that President Biden shit himself in front of the pope, it inspired me to write a book about my experience. I am calling it “Wipe Yourself Off After Mistakes”. I just finished the third chapter, which discusses always making sure you know where the nearest bathroom is. I think it’s going to be a bestseller

You don’t need to know where the nearest bathroom is after eating at Tippys Taco, just shit on the curb.
