Actually, Michael is a pretty smart piece of shit. His problem is when his manic episodes kick in and he doesn't think things through.
After all, as his own lawyer, he did beat a couple charges and get a couple overturned. That shows that when he has time to think things out and plan them that he does pretty well. It's the spontaneous stuff that always gets him in trouble.
That's why is is all alone with no friends. He can't react properly. If some guy says "Hey, let's hang out" Eesh will say something like "I can swallow the whole thing" instead of taking his time and realizing that that is not a proper response to a heterosexual guy. As far as women, we all know that once one speaks to him he gets all stupid and tongue tied and stalks them instead of speaking to them

Is not a sign of intelligence even if he had won (when it mattered he didn't, which is why he had to file bankruptcy over a million dollar judgement he couldn't afford). If the boy were really smart he would have looked at the situation as risk vs reward, he probably could have gotten a mediocre lawyer for $500 and beaten the damn case, God investing a grand in his defense would have saved him so much headache down the road. You HAVE to weigh the potential consequences against what you are willing to invest to try and move the odds in your favor. The morenos on the other hand did the exact opposite, they invested way too much and they overvalued what they thought the case was worth. They won but its a hollow victory because it was worthless. Ultimately it's the individuals right whether or not to hire a lawyer, but be wise about it. Speeding ticket? Unless you have a pitiful record and history of suspension you probably don't need to worry about it, just dress nice, show up early, be respectful and direct with the judge. Harassment, stalking, with a victim seeking a million in damages represented by an attorney? Get. A. Fucking. Lawyer. People on this site throw "smart" around way too casually
