First off, you don't know the facts, Cary was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Second, he was Arrested TWICE for the same charge that occurred on the same date -- Double Jeopardy. He was Arrested the day it happened and then about 2 weeks later. Why?

Actually, I've known of a case where someone once received multiple Felony distribution charges, just for handing over a bag or two for their friend (While they were out chilling in their friend's driveway).

That's not double jeopardy either. You can be tried twice for the same crime, you just can't be tried again for that same crime once you have been found innocent. Mistrials often result in people being tried more than once.

Check out the brains on this guy! Anything under a 1/2 ounce is possession. 1/2 oz to 5 pounds is felony possession w/intent to distribute with 1 to 5 yrs possible in jail. Anything over that would be trafficking and you would be looking at 10 yrs federal mandatory minimums because the DEA would be brought in on the case.

Yeah, but it just seems absurd given the scenario. I guess all that matters are the facts of what the person was caught doing at the moment, regardless of motives or infrequency. It can be a shame sometimes, because I remember one guy who got busted over by Stonegate during his FIRST deal, and he received a year behind bars. On the other hand, I know of people in more affluent areas who have done some serious dirt for years on end, and they get by in life with nothing more than probation, and sometimes even without a record. Life really isn't fair at times.
