Despite extremely harsh gun control laws

The murder rate in the Russian Federation is well over twice that of the United States...
Some Western European nations, such as Germany and Czechia, have relatively lax gun control compared to Russia yet their murder rates are low.
Despite ever more gun control laws added each year, the murder rate in the US skyrocketed over night after everyone was forced out of work and bandits were suddenly *required* to wear masks.
It's almost as if the murder rate has absolutely nothing to do with the implement used, just like the suicide rate in gun free Japan!
