You're stupid if you smoke and eat lousy food

I'm 60. I smoked for 3 years in my late teens and then quit. I run 10-15 miles a week, do whatever I want physically, feel good all the time, and have no health issues.

My brother is 62. He has smoked all his adult life, still does, and eats garbage, although he's not at all fat. He literally can't walk up a flight of stairs.

Those are your alternatives. Seriously.

I am in my mid 60s. Aside from a little pot in college I never smoked. I am not much of a runner, but I did work out regularly until the pandemic hit. I eat nutritious meals. What I eat is probably what you would consider lousy food. I eat it because I like it.

Maybe I will die 15 years before you will. So what. Those 15 years will come from the end of my life when I have the lowest quality of like. For all the years before that when I was able to eat what I want, it will be a good trade.

Now if the trade off had been a stroke in my early 50s, that would have sucked.
