Automatically enrolled in Medicaid by Virginia / Healthcare.gov

I went on healthcare.gov to see what plans there were. I filled out the application and it said the only one I qualified for was Medicaid. I’m not sure why the others didn’t show up. Last year it showed choices of Blue Cross, Kaiser, etc.

Now a few days later I got a letter from the VA Department of Medical Assistance Services saying that I was recently enrolled in Medicaid. I never selected Medicaid on healthcare.gov. I wanted Blue Cross since that is what I’ve always used.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Sounds like there’s an error with info. entered on your application. Review everything including yearly income and revise the document.

Anyone can enroll just like anyone can register to vote in California.
