You have it backwards. Genetic diversity and the chances of becoming pregnant are enhanced with a promiscuous female model of society. These have existed. The reason that model did not prevail is because men have been reluctant to provide for women during their pregnancy and their offspring after birth if the men were not certain the offspring were there's biologically.
