Trump was clearly out to do nothing but antagonize and inflame the situation and make dog whistle calls to his racist supporters. So now that he’s about to become a strange footnote in American history, the state of affairs have already improved by 100%. Simply removing Trump from the equation makes the whole country a better place.

It is nothing new. The Democratic Party has never been an organized political movement with a consistent platform. It instead was and is a loose electoral alliance of different movements which only share a general outlook on where they want the country to go.
