Meade grew up on a farm in Loudoun county

How close were you to Meade then? Loudoun county was a different world in the 1990s. So was Fairfax county. I bet some of us ran into Meade back then and didn't even know it.

Meade must have crossed paths with Lynn Sadler on many occasions.

Meade, why do you continue to start threads about yourself and your boring upbringing on a site that you claim to have ruined your life?

Maybe you should think twice about posting after midnight.

No. I think they use to pin a tail on Meade and the dogs would chase him to warm up for the hunts.

That wouldn't provide much of a warm up. Meade moved slow even back when he was 100 lbs lighter.

English saddles are predominant in Virginia. Meade is confused as part of his lifelong identity crisis. Notwithstanding Roy Clark and the Statler Brothers. Virginia does not have cowboys. The Carter Family, the Stanley Brothers, Patsy Cline, and Ella Fitzgerald are more representative of Virginia.

No, be assured there are not. There are plenty of cows, farmers, hillbillies, rednecks, and even Mennonites. But no indigenous cowboys. Any cowboys there are non-native newcomers, refugees or carpetbaggers from outside the state: recent transplants lacking deep roots in Virginia.

Virginia is big beef cattle industry. They have cowboys in Virginia. Just go to Lakota ranch in Remington.

give me a break Southern cowboys???? Western states is the only true cowboy. Even the "Virginian" TV character moved from VA cause he knew it was Sheep and Goat country,,,Sheepboys goatboys maybe. John Wayne would never play a "Southern cowboy"...

Fun fact: many of the good old boys who drive around soliciting tree work hail from Culpeper, Remnington, and the vicinity. They are nothing whatsoever like cowboys, but rather a unique Virginia archetype.

Cattle are raised all over the world, but the only cowboys are in the West and Southwest. You will find closer comparables in South America than in VA.
