By this argument nobody ever dies of gunshot wounds, they die of shock or blood loss or organ failure.
No, they die of gunshot wounds, even if being fat or frail or old contributed to their inability to survive the wounds.
Similarly, those who die of covid would undoubtedly have continued to live with diabetes, being fat, or being old had covid not come along.
And there's good evidence that, had trump done anything but waste time and lie in early March, we might look more like Korea or Japan and maybe lost a few hundred. Instead we'll lose a few hundred thousand before this is over. These things are rarely one single person's direct fault, but this time it is.
